The Data Analytics Team, based in the Office of the Provost, was formed in the fall of 2016 to provide data support to members of the University community. Our goal is to supply senior administrators with the information they need to make data-driven decisions. We do this by offering insight through the development of reports and predictive analytics models.

To this end, the Data Analytics Team produces a variety of weekly, term-based, and annual reports using data characterizing students, faculty, and staff; conducts ad hoc analytics projects to address specific questions; and oversees the administration and analysis of a number of University-wide surveys of students and faculty.

The Data Analytics Team’s vision is to the catapult the University of Pittsburgh to become a leader in data-driven decision-making.
