The Data Analytics Team oversees the administration of a range of surveys to assess the student and faculty experience at the University of Pittsburgh. We provide reporting, analytics, and insight to guide decision-making for Pitt administrators and the broader educational community.
COACHE Faculty Satisfaction Survey
Pitt administered the COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey in 2016 and in 2019. The results offer important insights into what Pitt faculty think about working here.
Student Experience in the Research University
Pitt has administered the Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) survey since 2009. This survey focuses on the unique experience of undergraduate students at large research universities.
Graduate Student Experience in the Research University
Pitt administered the Graduate Student Experience in the Research University (gradSERU) survey in 2017 and in 2019. This survey focuses on the experiences and outcomes of graduate and professional students attending top-tier research universities.
University of Pittsburgh Senior Survey
The Senior Survey is administered each term to seniors who are graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the Pittsburgh campus. The survey questions pertain to the undergraduate experience and the results help administrators gain a fuller understanding of how to provide the best programs and services possible to students.
Fall 2020 Student Questionnaire
The Fall 2020 Student Questionnaire was designed to help the University of Pittsburgh prepare for the Fall 2020 term. Pitt administered this questionnaire in summer 2020 to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
Spring COVID-19 Faculty Survey
In order to understand the perspective and feelings of faculty members during a pandemic, in May 2020 Pitt administered a survey to faculty that asked about the impact of COVID-19 on their experience. The survey provided important information about resources and support, research and scholarly work, and teaching and technology, and communication.
Student Experience in the Research University COVID-19 Survey
In conjunction with the Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) Consortium, Pitt administered a special survey in Spring 2020 on the impact of COVID-19 on the student experience. The survey was administered to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students who were impacted by the pandemic and campus closures.
